You may be wondering why there are credit repair companies out there. These credit repair associations (CRA's) act quickly to investigate and correct erroneous information so that you can get approved for a mortgage loan. 

If you contact a CRA, they must investigate the validity of your claim within 30 days (at no charge to you). However, if the CRA drops the dispute, it's considered an expedited dispute resolution. Once the CRA has done this, it no longer has to do the other protections it provides. If you run into the same problem again, your credit report may once again go back to square one.
